Scientific name: Camellia sinensis O.Ktze
Description: Tea is a healthy plant that grows wild and can be 10 m or more in height if not trimmed. The tree-trunk diameter can be too big to hug by a person. Sometimes tea grows as a forest on high mountains. When growing, people usually trim the tree to be convenient for harvest. The leaves are alternate and non-shedding. The flowers are large and white, produced from the axillary bud with fragrant smell, many pistils. The fruit usually has 3 sections, but only one seed, other seeds withered. The seeds have no embryos, have large cotyledons and contain oil.
Allocation: in our country, tea plants are grown in the province of Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, etc. Tea used to make medicine shall be picked in the spring. Tea buds and young leaves are picked and crumpled, then dried in a pan to use as a medicine. Back tea or brown tea which is fermented tea first and dried later is not used to make medicine.
Usage and dosage: Tea is used for drinking, making stimulant medicine of d caffeine and curing dysentery based on the following prescription: 100g flavored tea, 10g licorice, 100ml water.
How to infuse: Pour water into the tea and licorice kettle, boil for half an hour, filter water, add water into the residues and boil for approximately half an hour, filter water, mix the two types, concentrate to 100 ml, add 0.3g sodium benzoate or 0.03g nipagin to storage, use 4 times per day, each time 5-10ml
