The whole plant contains light yellow essential oil, light fragrant close to eucalyptus essential oil, soothing scent with ratio 0.5 to 0.7%. In our country, essential oil of weeping baeckea contains 35% a thuyon and apinen, 4% limonen, cineol 15%, 11% ylangen. Depending on the origin, the composition may vary.

Description: Shrub, many branches, 50 - 150cm high. Opposite leaves, awl like shape, 5 - 8 mm in length, 0.4 - 0.6mm in width, acuminate top, no hair, translucent brown line, very short stalk.
Flowers are solitarily produced from the axillary bud, hermaphrodite, white yellow, diameter of 2 - 3mm; stem 1mm, very small slit between 2 bracts, early deciduous. Tubular calyx, 1mm in length, divided into 5 triangular lobes; 5-petal flower, nearly round, 4 mm in long; pistil 10, rarely 8, shorter than petals; ovary contains 3 boxes, each box contains two ovules.
